Dr. Mufti Muhammad Siddiqi is the Founder and President of Humble Islamic Center. He is serving the Greater Houston Muslim Community in various capacities since January 2004. He currently works as Resident Scholar at Kingwood Islamic Center, Kingwood, Texas, which he co-founded in 2004. Further, he is also the Founder and Managing Director of American Ethical Finance Institute, which is providing Islamic finance training, research, and advisory services in the United States since 2015.
He was born in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. However, his family is originally from Lucknow–Kanpur, India and migrated to Karachi, Pakistan after the partition.
He started his education by memorization of the Holy Quran in Karachi, Pakistan, and thereafter, completed his Aalimiyyah Studies at Darul Uloom Azaadville, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Ifta Studies (Specialization in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence) at Al-Jamiah Al-Islamiyyah, Karachi, Pakistan.
After acquiring religious education, Dr. Mohammad Siddiqi began his journey in the secular education and completed BBA in Accounting and Finance at C.T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. Subsequently, he completed his MBA in Finance at the University of Arizona – Global Campus, along with his PhD in Islamic Studies at Graduate Theological Foundation, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
His academic qualifications also include: a PgCert in Islamic Studies from the prestigious Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, a PgCert in Islamic Law & Jurisprudence, and an ABD in Islamic Finance (All But Dissertation, successfully completed all PhD program pre-requisite courses and PhD required 24 credit hours coursework and passed the pre dissertation comprehensive examinations), from International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He also completed PhD coursework and dissertation research in Islamic finance at the Institute of Islamic Banking & Finance, International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Siddiqi holds multiple Ijazas in the Quran and Hadith sciences from various distinguished scholars around the globe.
In his spare time, Dr. M Siddiqi actively keeps up with the current economic, political, and social issues, participates in community activities, and spends time being adventurous with his two boys, Umar and Usman.
