Dr. Salah al-Sawywas was a Professor at the prestigious Al-Azhar University, Professor at Umm Al Qura University, a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Sciences in Washington DC, Director of the Scientific Miracle Association for the Islamic World League, President of the American Open University, and a VP to its Board of Trustees.
Currently, the shaykh is the President of Mishkah University and the Secretary General of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA). Dr. Salah Assawy was born in Egypt where, as a youth in 1962, he won the Egyptian National Quran memorization contest.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in the faculty of Legislation and Law at Al Azhar University where he subsequently earned his PhD in Islamic Religious Sciences at the faculty of Legislation and Law in 1985.
